How To Fix 404 Not Found Error
This is a step by step video tutorial and guide of How To Fix 404 Not Found Error. This is a very common error, everyone, face this error. It occurs when we create any page or post of our website and delete or rename that post after some time.
Because when we create any post or page it automatically adds in website index. But when we delete or remove any post from a website the URL still saved in website index or website map.
That is why when anyone searches something relevant to our deleted post-Google shows our URL and if someone clicks that URL the 404 not found error occurs. Google hate is an error. So we should keep maintain our website and remove that error immediately.
How to check 404 not found error
To check this error the first step is going to google webmaster tool which is also known as Google search console. Login in search console and go to dashboard. Given dashboard picture below…
Click on CRAWL option. A drop-down menu appear.
Now click on CRAWL ERRORS. after clicking crawl errors go to another option that is Google index after clicking Google index a new drop-down menu appears now there is an option remove URL.
Open Remove URL option in a new tab as given below screenshot.
After opening new tab go back to your first tab, there is a list of 404 not found an error.
Click on error link which opens a new window, there is a link in red color.
Copy the red color link and go to your remove URL tab.
Click on temporally hide, a new box opens.
Paste your copied link and click on continue.
Now click on submit
Now go back to your first tab and click on marked as fixed. A new window opens like given below screenshot
Click on ok now you have fixed the 404 not found an error. SO this is a whole process of removing 404 not found an error. Like this you have to remove all error links one by one manually
